Not sure where to start off with this post;
it’s filled with awesome cinematography and sound design goodness. hence a lot of production was involved . . . so I’ll start off with the basics, as giant humans walking babies would.
We shall begin here . . .
PostPanic has produced present this year the OFFF Barcelona Main titles.
A mind blowing title sequence of awesomeness created by Mischa Rozema, Ania Markham and Si Scott with the super gnarly sound design by Hecq.
a Founded in 1997, PostPanic is a Dutch hybrid film production company creating unique visual work for the international advertising, broadcast, retail and music industries. Our distinctive visual style has come about through a shared passion for live action, motion graphics, visual effects and 2d/3d animation.
From the website that’s currently live, I believe it’s a VFX/Film conference; showcasing works of various films done by independent film agency and studios or maybe not limited to films.
The site is a tad buggy, the about page is still under construction, but still looks awesome nonetheless.
I really enjoyed watching this sequence and the approach they went with.
The micro shots of dark visuals in-between the main footage has been well timed, along with help of superb sound design implemented to put you a psychological perspective of this Dystopian view of the future.
Also a rad thing about this is they have added subtle typographic credits all around the film, its sort of a wheres wally like thing, but for credits or maybe its for participants of the conference. . . not sure but its quite cleaver.
Wait, I think it is, sagmeister’s environmental typography is seen in a shot below; and you see the man writing Eboy at the train station so and also below on the pigskin tattoo, design is dead is seen … so if my Sherlock holmes / Professor Layton and Scoobydoo skills are correct, this is not limited to film. Which makes this title even even cooler than before.
Alright, hold on to your eyeball ladies and gentleman.
I would also recommended checking out the original vimeo linked at bottom of this post.
It has directors notes which quite insightful of their vision and circumstances in making this piece.
